Tonight will be the grand night of the Big Brother: Celebrity 2 edition, where William Devaughn Stumpf, better known as Will Devaughn is one of the Big Four finalists. The 25-year-old multi-racial [German, Filipino, African-American] male model is the only good-looking guy left in the Big Brother house, and, he’s got the queer and girl votes. Will is supporting the Brave Kids Foundation [a charity for kids with cancer], which stands to benefit from the big payout in case he wins tonight’s grand reveal.
Remember the farmer from Nueva Ecija who surprised everyone at the first Mister Philippines pageant by winning the top plum – earning the right to represent the country in the Mister International contest? Ian Leonel Porlayagan, however, failed to attend and compete at the Mister International contest in Malaysia [a Brazilian won the pageant, held on New Year’s Eve]. Apparently, the organizers did not have enough money to finance the trip of Ian Porlayagan to nearby pageant site, Kuching. It must be remembered that the organizers of Mister Philippines also failed to send Michael Raymond Lim [as winner of ExpoWorld-Phils] to the Mister ExpoWorld contest in Guatemala City last year. Instead, Ginoong Pilipinas runner-up Joseph Pallera competed in the Mister ExpoWorld pageant in the Guatemalan capital. Incidentally, the Mister ExpoWorld pageant will be held in the Philippines this year.
Orlando Sol, is 21 years old and the more popular member of the boy group M-Gage [short for Male Engagement]. Touted as the look-alike of actor Yul Servo, he “has the highest vocal range, can sing falsetto, loves to body build and has the strongest sex appeal” in the group, according to the Viva Records website. Orlando Sol started out in theater [he topbilled Quiapo: The Musical sponsored by the University of the East] and now he is trying out tv and acting. Orlando Sol was last seen as one of the featured boys in the musical play Ilusyonada staged at Metro Bar two years ago. The group M-Gage performs regularly on weekends at Punchline, Laffline and Metro sing-along bars, all in Quezon City.
Back from a short break. For lack of any new post yet, here’s Denver Olivarez aka Dennis Barrion, discrowned Ginoong Pilipinas 2007 titleholder naked and, uh, coy. The Ateneo de Manila Math major and erstwhile law student is now waiting in the wings, for the big break to come, as he aims to do commercial and acting projects soon. He also has plans of entering law school again after his Ateneo stint, this time at the Arellano Law Foundation.
