Huge male model Lance Howard is our hump day boy! In this time when the Brazilians are littering the local modeling space – in go-sees, TVCs, runways and even bit roles on TV, Lance is leveling the field with his looks, charm and physique. He can easily compete with them Brasileiros who are also tall and attractive. Lance has, so far, landed big-time projects for Bench, Folded & Hung and the Philippine Fashion Week series.
Someone needs our help, our collective efforts, guys. Yon Fronda, the 24-year-old cute model who was featured here before, got his photos uploaded in this Benetton It’s My Time contest. It’s the global casting competition of the clothing brand known for its multi- and interracial ads. The top 100 models will be featured in a book and 20 will be flown to New York City for the 2010 Fall/Winter catalogue shoot. So vote for Yon here in this link, although I’m not sure about the psoriasis thing. Hmmm.
Whatever happened to Michael Raymond Lim of the defunct Provoq group? Top photo is a recent one, taken during the Philippine Fashion Week series held a few months ago. It looks like he just got big and broad. He was my favorite member of the daring boy group Provoq, until he quit, joined Mister Philippines 2007 and totally disappeared from the limelight. Now he’s back and I’m missing the old Michael Raymond Lim [bottom photo].
Thank Goodness It’s Monday! Our featured guy today is Brazilian model Luciano Stranghetti, who’s currently here to work the runways, print ads and TVCs. The 6’2″-tall hunk from Sao Paulo landed a spot in the 2009 Cosmopolitan [Phils] magazine’s hot and new bachelors. Prior to arriving in Manila, he was a runner-up in the Mr. Brazil 2008 contest. Twenty-one-year-old Luciano has booked modeling projects for Bench and the Philippine Fashion Week series.
It was a wham-bam-alakazam moment. I was driving along EDSA earlier, minding my business, when out of the orange-colored sky — flash, bam, alakazam! Wonderful Sam Milby came by! He was in this giant billboard, wearing short shorts for the summer campaign of local clothing brand Folded & Hung. Apparently, this was shot in one of those Santorini-esque houses in Talisay, Batangas just recently. Happy Sunday, guys!
The theme of the story of the new indie flick Parisukat [Square] is murder-mystery, a whodunnit tale of a gay serial killer in a creepy house. Aside from the tale of carnage, there are also carnal episodes among the actors, particularly the leads – former model and 90s sexy actor Toffee Calma [top pics] and comer Jeff Tatsuro [bottom pics]. Of course, you’ll have to watch the movie starting 10 March 2010 [Wednesday] at the Robinsons Galleria to find out who did the full monty in this one. By the way, the entire cast will be at the Galleria on Wednesday at 8.30 p.m. for the meet-and-greet.
Our TGIF boy is Fabinho Ide, a Brazilian model in our midst. The 24-year-old cutie has been in the country for quite some time now, occasionally leaving to attend to commercial casting and runway projects in other Asian countries. He is one of the new models for Fit ‘N Right, along with another nipo-brasileiro Daniel Matsunaga. Fabio is also finishing a movie with Daniel and some Filipino models, which movie is about a group of models stranded in an island – D’Survivors. It looks like Fabio’s going to stay for a while, as he’s been taking language and acting lessons to broaden his career path in our shores.
Quick! While we’re on the topics of: Jake Cuenca, launched as Bench Body’s face and flesh of its summer campaign featuring printed briefs, and the showing of the new indie flick Santuaryo on 17 March 2010 featuring Will Sandejas in his full frontal eminence, here’s the question – Name some thing[s] in common between Jake and Will. I’m not talking about the briefs.
So what happens now? Another suitcase [full of Bench Body briefs], another hall? Loyal Bench Body models Jon Mullally [left] and Rafael Rosell were noticeably left out of the summer launch of the underwear brand’s new line. In fact, Bench went all out for the solo spotlight on Jake Cuenca. Although Jon and Rafael were included in the summer campaign, Lost in Summer, along with a bunch of models and actors, the two guys – who could easily drop their pants at the drop of a penny, er, peso, were obviously excluded from the summer show. What gives?
