Now this is tough: If you were to choose between Luke Jickain and Vin Abrenica, who would it be and why? Older or younger? The mestizo one, or the moreno guy? Large pink areolae or small dark nips?
How about between James Zablan and Sam Ajdanii? Hard model bodies with interesting faces. One’s in the industry for long already – say, ten years or more, and he’s still getting good projects on the runways. The other’s fairly new and sought-after.  Take your pick.

Who’s watching Misibis Bay? “TV5 will be launching its first ever sexy revenge drama miniseries Misibis Bay that will make prime time viewing hotter, more stirring, and heartrending this July.” That’s  how the PR goes, and it got me with “heartrending.”  Plus, of course, the three hunky brothers in the series – Jome Silayan n.k.a. Victor Silayan, Daniel Matsunaga, and Vin Abrenica, who are all wet and doing away with shirts for the entire duration of the show. I think.

The Year That Was: BYTs

Bright young things. These are the future centerfolds of Cosmopolitan [Phils] magazine. The new leading men of the near course of events. The young hunks gracing Mens Health magazine and shirtless-hunks-on-the-cover pulp. This year they did good: ABS-CBN’s prized singer-actor Sam Concepcion [left] is venturing into hunkingdom come, thanks to exposure at the recent Bench Universe show.  GMA’s teen actor Derrick Monasterio [center] is getting noticed, what with lead status in the station’s afternoon soaps. Check out the December 12, 2012 episode of his fantasy series, Paroa: Ang Kwento ni Mariposa, where Derrick had some under-the-rain-and-in-shorts shots. Promising, really.  And of course, Aljur‘s brother, Avin Abrenica winning TV5’s Artista Academy. His station’s giving him all the shots – shows and soaps with top marquee actors by his side.  Who’s making it big in 2013?

The brother also rises. Or at least he’s trying to. Aljur‘s younger bro Avin Abrenica is out to make a name for himself in showbiz by joining TV5’s reality search Artista Academy. He’s one of the finalists, and he’s getting a lot of feedback. Artista Academy airs from Monday to Friday at 11.45 a.m. and 9 p.m., and on Saturdays at 9.30 p.m on TV5.
