Good Relations

I honestly think the writers and people behind Karelasyon are perversely tickling and teasing us with their latest episode: Derrick gets to bed Baron (or the other way around, depending on who is your sexy fancy).

How can one resist those arms and sweet kisses and the smell of soap and manly secretions?

This is the PR for the show:  In this Saturday’s episode of Karelasyon, Baron plays John Lloyd, a closet case who is longing to find true love. He meets PJ (Derrick) who seems to be his ideal man. Is he or is he just playing with his feelings? Well, I don’t mind PJ playing with my feelings, if you ask me. Do you?

Karelasyon airs tomorrow a 2.30 p.m. after Eat Bulaga on GMA.

Baron v. Kiko

Tomorrow there’ll be smut! For now, place your bets! This one’s going to be the big fight of the, uh, month. There will be blood and lots of guts spilled! Baron Geisler and Kiko Matos are headlining the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) fight night pretty soon to settle their differences. Throwback swimwear photos of the two – who we wish to just kiss and make out up – are posted here.

Baron Geisler is fit.

He’s the wild, wild boy in Philippine showbiz, which has seen him in his finest hour on tv drunk, distraught and demented.  At least he’s straight-out about it, unlike some actors.  Yet, while the maniacal-when-muddled streak seemed to have attached to the 28-year-old actor, he has been getting a lot of projects of late. After winning the Best Actor trophy for the brilliant movie, Jay at the Cinemalaya Film Festival, he was cast in the period movie Baler [an entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival] and in the tv series Eva Fonda on ABS-CBN. And so it seems Baron Geisler is one hell of a lucky guy after all.

Jay in demand

There’s a movie in Cinemalaya 2008 that is  giving film critics something to talk about. Writer-director-producer Francis Xavier Pasion’s Jay is the story of two Jays – one living, and the other dead. According to the director: “The film defamiliarizes the operations of media, tv in particular, in bringing us their stories.  It shows how media can subtly give us their own version of the truth.” Too, although there are gay characters in the movie, the first-time director clarifies that this is not a gay movie. Baron Geisler [photo above, left], who is co-starring with Coco Martin, reportedly had a frontal nudity scene “which was integral to the story.” I think the next schedule of Jay will be on Saturday July 19, 3.30 pm at the CCP MKP Hall.
