Quietly busy doing his work in show business is Bench discovery and ex-bikini open contestant Ron Morales. Although he’s not taking on the leading-man parts, the 27-year-old beanpole is a constant fixture on tv as a prominent supporting actor. His recent outing in the movies was the best friend role of Derek Ramsay‘s character in the hit campy flick No Other Woman.

Reader rumpalstitskin sends in these images of Ron Morales during his Mossimo Bikini Summit days [circa 2007] and pre-Bench reality show, reminding us that back in the early days of the competition, the boys wore tight and gauzy white ‘kinis. Now, if only the Mossimo Bikini Summit 2011 boys wore the same underwear. [*silent sigh]

Mossimo Boys Then

The regulation bikini post today takes us back to 2007 when the year’s edition of the Mossimo Bikini Summit gathered together a motley group of sexy boys. The three cute chinitos in the contest were, from left: Haroun Morales a.k.a. Ron Morales, Kim Gantioqui and Zachi Uy. They didn’t win, unfortunately.

Who’s Miko?

That guy on the left, who is he? He’s billed as Miko in the Bench Body summer ad Return to Temptation. He’s new, fresh and cute. Looks like there’s a new kid on the underwear block! By the way, the one in the yellow shorts is singer Jay R, behind him is Bench staple Ron Morales and rightmost is newbie Franco Daza.

The Brothers Morales

One of the most favored Bench underwear models [and actor] Haroun Morales [left] has a brother and his name is Rafael, cute and twinky with a nice bod to boot. While Haroun is making a name for himself in showbiz via tv soaps and shows, Rafael took the path well-traveled – the racy, risqué bikini route. Rafael has since retired, hanging up his tiny ‘kinis for a life abroad.

Pretty Boys

Pretty, pretty boys, shirtless and in denims. Who’s the fairest of them all? Is it Be Bench runner-up John James Uy [leftmost], now a commercial model and bit player on tv? Or maybe ABS-CBN’s new boy-of-the-moment Haroun Morales [2nd from left]? I bet some dig ex-Manhunt International contestant Marvin Wijangco [3d from left] more. Others like former Big Brother housemate and model Kian Kazemi [rightmost] . Catch these boys in July when they go on stage in their briefs for the biennial Bench underwear show!

Coy Boy

Underwear model and actor Haroun Morales is taking a break from tv for now, after the series where he had top marquee status ended last week. This 25-year0ld Be Bench runner-up is not alarmed though [at the prospect of becoming jobless in showbiz land] as more ABS-CBN shows and soaps are coming his way. Haroun’s slowly inching his way to the top and he’s patiently waiting [and working] for that moment. Or episode, for that matter.

Ron and Racho

At the 2007 Mossimo Bikini Summit, then 23-year-old Haroun Morales competed against a motley group of good looking boys, including a lean and mean Adrian Racho. Haroun and Adrian didn’t win, although the latter took home the Photogenic award. Undaunted, Haroun joined the Be Bench Model Search a year after and he landed first runner-up. He is now with ABS-CBN, appearing endlessly in bit – but rewarding – projects for the network. Haroun is still with ABS-CBN, working his ass off [no pun], slow and easy. And as for Racho, he’s still very much around after doing racy pics for a local gay rag. And what’s the point of this post. Nothing. Uh, two words, actually: casting couch.

Flitting

Whatever happened to Haroun “Ron” Morales? For a time, he seemed to be the next big thing over at ABS-CBN. He had projects and assignments right away after winning first-runner-up at the Be Bench Model Search, won by teener Carlo Guevara. Now, the former bikini pageant regular is just one of the boys, bit players in his home studio’s soaps and shows. Sadly, too, his Bench exposures are getting rare.

Cutesome Threesome

Oh my! Three cute boys singing, doesn’t matter if they are not harmonizing. They are chanting shirtless, hamming it up for the audience.
