And so it has come to pass, MarkVin is no more. The two boys have broken up after a year and a few months of spending blissful moments together, off-showbiz. It was a good match, but good things came to an end abruptly earlier last month. What(who)ever the reasons were, Markki seemed to have moved on up (the lovely mountains).

Something in Common

They’re in the news lately, giving us something to talk about. What is confirmed though is that both Marvin and Markki have this shared experience modeling for Bench a decade apart. Marvin was at the height of his career and he walked the ramp in his green undies. Of course, Markki followed later in his much-talked-about thongs.

TBT: Marvin

Did you know that actor and successful entrepreneur Marvin Agustin used to be a Bench underwear model? Ages ago, when the the world was a wee bit younger and the internet was just a novelty and money was scarce and showbiz actors were innocent, Marvin paraded in his teeny tiny undies at the Araneta Coliseum in one of the first shows for Bench.  There!

Marvin Agustin on a roll

Marvin Agustin seems to be enjoying good fortune these days. He was recently signed up by GMA Films for a pivotal role in the suspense movie Dagaw [Waray for “shadow”], opposite Richard Gutierrez. The 28-year old actor didn’t mind, though, if he was the sixth choice for the part, after the role was first offered to Dennis Trillo, Jericho Rosales, Dingdong Dantes, Diether Ocampo, and Ryan Agoncillo. Recently, too, he inked an exclusive contract with GMA 7, effectively cutting ties with rival station ABS-CBN where he was given the big break a few years back.

I Heart Marvin!

Actor Marvin Agustin‘s secret to his buff bod is South Beach Diet, regular exercise and boxing regimen. In the latest issue of Men’s Health Philippines, he revealed that the reason he worked out from chub to fab was because he felt he “never had the physical traits of an artista.” So he hit the gym to make his shoulders broader as he had a big head and a small frame. Unlike his mate Dominic Ochoa, who has gone old and porcine, Marvin Agustin [previously given up by his old tv studio as a has-been] is experiencing a second energy burst in his career, thanks to a great bod and positive determination.

How about Marvin Agustin?

Yeah, why not Marvin Agustin? This diminutive and multi-awarded 28-year old actor’s got enough oomph appeal. After switching channels from the station that discovered and built him up [and eventually cast off to near-oblivion in favor of younger actors], Marvin Agustin is on a renaissance in his career. His new station, Channel 7, has given him endless projects – mostly soaps, series and prominent guest appearances in its programs.
