Mark Gil on Fathers’ Day

by: rddantes June 17, 2007 | 1 Comment |
Eighties actor Mark Gil was on tv earlier on, doing a duet with his son, Gabby Eigenmann for a Fathers’ Day presentation in a noontime show. Although he has since turned gray with age, I would love to think of him from way back in the early 80’s when the Experimental Cinema of the Philippines [ECP] was put up. Back then a young, august and majestic Mark Gil of the famous acting clan was going all the way in such films as Company of Women and in the [in]famous Tanay waterfalls scene in Naiibang Hayop with an exotic ingenue, Irma Alegre.

Happy Fathers’ Day!

by: rddantes | 2 Comments |

It’s Fathers’ Day today and all I can think of posting is a puppy-papi Jomari Yllana. Before he got old and fat, he looked like that in the photos above. Propelled to popularity by his large Bench underwear billboards in the late 90s, Jomari Yllana was then a young boy barely legal in small-sized and skimpy briefs, thongs and jocks. Today, Jomari has gained some years and heft, but he still looks so, uh, adorable. [Bit of back-fence talk: His kiss-and-expose ex-wife does not swear by the immensity of Jomari’s purple heart, but harps on the modesty – of his possessions, however dinky.]

Nooks and Crannies

by: rddantes June 16, 2007 | Add Comment |
Sorely missed in the biz because of his migration to Australia, Rodel Velayo‘s last feature film was Siquijor: The Mystic Island shown in March of this year. The movie, which was conceitedly touted as the local version of “Blair Witch Project.” was a dismal flop. Incidentally, Rodel Velayo was wearing his clothes on in the flick. So unlike his previous movies and photos where every nook and cranny of his seriously divine bod – both substance and substructure – get to be exhibited. Including those areas where the sun does not necessarily shine.

Dreamboat: Arthur Manlutac

by: rddantes | 1 Comment |

Twenty-three-year old Arthur Manlutac works as a technical support agent in a big BPO corporation somewhere between Ayala and Gil Puyat Avenues in Makati City. He is originally from Tarlac City, but he studied at the Mapua Institute of Technology-Makati campus. A part-time model, this hunky squirt has been turning heads in his building [and area].

Big Future: Mark Onir Rino

by: rddantes June 15, 2007 | 1 Comment |
In the latest Icon magazine issue, twenty-two year old Mark Onir Rino appears in a fashion spread in a futuristic-metallic theme [I’m just wondering why some photogs, usually the thinking-just-inside-the-box ones, associate “futuristic” themes with metal or shiny objects]. Mark Onir, who is one scorching hot model, stands 5’10” and is from Calamba, Laguna province. He was a finalist in the Guess? Faces to Watch Philippines and has recently appeared in the Philippine Fashion Week. This model, who is one of the most dandy-favored male mannequins in the biz today, was once a varsity basketball player.

Ding-Dong! Here’s Pong!

Twenty-four year old Pong Cruz is a model and singer, who was once among the top three finalists in a Maharlikang Pilipino pageant held years back. The 5’11”-tall looker has also modeled for top fashion designers. With his height and very-mucho-Filipino looks, Pong Cruz deserves a second-look in the models’ playing field. Of course, his hair can always be fixed by a good stylist.

Twink Next Door: Chance David

Here’s 19-year old Chance David, a cute little twinkie who has turned out and turned up in pinup and centerfold spreads lately. No info on the young squirt has been provided yet, but the photos are all-too fleshly and fervid, sort of tempting with his youthful frame and wide-eyed stare. Oh, what kids can do these days!

New Icon Magazine Issue!

by: rddantes | Add Comment |
This is the go-grab-a-copy now post. Icon Magazine Philippines has come out with its latest issue, with Sylvester “Ram” Sagad on the cover. Ram Sagad [UPH’s source of woes and troubles recently] is the current winner of the Century Tuna Superbods, an annual model search of Century Tuna. He was the surprise unknown who beat top favorites and pro models in the competition. Incidentally, the latest issue also features perennial bikini pageant contestant Alizon Andres, who talks about some “controversy” in the Century Tuna event. Alizon Andres handily won the Texter’s Choice award in the pageant and there’s no controversy there. Ok, go buy the magazine boys!
