Where in the world is Martin Gonzalo? He first came into the scene by representing Pangasinan province in the Ginoong Pilipinas male pageant. The then scraggy Eric Junio aka Martin Gonzalo did not win the competition, but he was signed up for the movies. After appearing as pin-up boy in the gay mags at that time [once as totally naked video guy on the bookazine Rice], he was offered one of the leads in the controversial movie, Live Show. He went on to appear in a couple more sex-oriented flicks but his career went for the downside when the era of the bold bandwagon ended. He briefly appeared in the TV series, Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan on Channel 2. When the series ended, his career also went to rest.
Hayden de la Santa Kho Jr. is famous skin doctor Vicki Belo’s new love. Hayden is a physician [graduate of the University of Santo Tomas, where he is a campus figure together with another hot med cutie, Serge Ledesma], having passed the 2007 Physician Licensure examinations. In between medical school terms, Hayden [height: 6’2 1/2″] was a favorite model of J. Moreno, even bringing him to the US for his fashion shows.
As to the Belo-Kho affair, what struck me most from this January-December affair was that Belo [screen age: 50] claims Hayden is 24 years her junior. Pardon my math, but Hayden is only 26? Anybody from the UST Records Section?
Pro model Dayal Chowdhary, with his unique Filipino-Indian looks, stands 6’2 and has appeared in numerous ad campaigns, foremost of which was the Penshoppe Denimlab Rockfest last year. He once joined the last Man of the Year contest [with eventual winner Joseph Kidwell, and 1st RU Johnron Tanada], and the 2003 MTV Fashionista Best Model Search [won by Bjorn Engler over crowd favorite Brent Javier]. Dayal is also venturing into the indie flicks, with a role in the recently-released Cinema One Original movie Seroks.
At the annual contest between exotic dancers of the gay clubs in the metro, one dancer was imported from a bar in Davao. Complimented for his exotic and brawny looks, Brando had one more surprise against the other Manila-based competitor-dancers. It was his huge talent. He won, of course.
I remember clearly his audition video for the toothpaste image model search [Closeup To Fame], where the camera follows a young guy around the streets of Kalookan City in his mock Hardwood Mitchell & Ness jersey and shorts with Spartan sandals. I was thinking this could be a diamond in the rough.
Unfortunately, although he passed the auditions , he did not get through the finals. However, the guy’s back, polished and with vengeance. He was in Cosmopolitan Philippines magazine’s 69 Eligible Bachelors for 2006. He also bagged a modeling contract for one of the top agencies, which booked him his most lucrative deal yet – the Bench Fever show. He has also appeared in TVCs and print media commercials, such as BPI and Globe Telecoms. Pretty soon, he will invade showbiz.
