He’s back! After a long hiatus, Johnron Tanada is back in the movies. This time he’s taking lead in a sexy comedy, Barako. From the screenplay of Lex Bonife [Parola, Antonio] and the direction of Monti Parungao [Bayaw, Sagwan], Barako is a light sexy fare about a coffee shop owner and his special coffee. This is one indie movie that does not depict the usual gay themed movie that includes death and sad endings. Its a breath of fresh air from the dark depressing gay indie movies.

as i have noticed it, the “tool” shrinks as you grow older especially when there is semblance of over using it. this may be true to Johnron.. having worked as service provider and a dancer at Guam (as he revealed it in SNN). A recovery may be necessary but not a guarantee to bring back its old original “tikas”.

GROSS…and irresponsible are the proper words to describe the movie theme. pang Pinas lang itong movie na ito. i’ve seen pinoy movies shown at festivals where the audience stood up, not to honour the movie, but to walk out in digust and vomit in the washroom. Lex Bonife you have to clean up your act.
