Sizzler: Jon Mullally

So, that’s the correct spelling of his surname pala. Icon Magazine’s latest coverboy is Jonathan Mullally, an Irish-Filipino who won last year’s Century Tuna Superbods Image Model Search. The guy’s been modeling for a couple of years in Manila and lately, he has gone the sexy route via the Cosmopolitan Philippines 69th Street Bachelors’ Bash. He is also an endorser now of local underwear brand Bench.
Some other facts about the guy: He was discovered by singer Ogie Alcasid’s manager when he was lining up for a signing session with singer Regine Velasquez. Jon used to take the bus home to Bulacan when he was still new in the biz, and he would get stares from passengers because of his Pan-Asian looks and height. He now lives in that new condo [often seen with an exotic-looking lady] across the now-closed raunchy bar Blue Bar near Club Government in Makati.

Heartthrob: Andrew Montevista

by: rddantes | 1 Comment |

Valentino magazine’s newest coverboy, Andrew Montevista is 20 years old and a native of Pampanga province. He is, as the magazine article goes, a bartender in one of the hotels along Roxas Boulevard [Don’t ask which hotel. Could be the Diamond or the former Westin.]. Further, he revealed that he used to be chubby [as he loves to cook], but to date he has trimmed down to his desired size after diet and basketball. Evidently.

Dick-A-Day: Anthony Montano

He once joined the male pageant Ginoong Pilipinas but he lost. Eventually, he was again seen as a dancer in one of the gay bars in Quezon City before becoming stud-fodder for the gay mags circulating at the time. Rather rabbity to show off his willy-winkey, he had to don sheer underwear in this shoot. Sorry guys.

Buns!

by: rddantes | 2 Comments |

In 2005, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons reported that 25 percent of “buttock implants” were performed on men as were 8 percent of “buttock lifts”. This goes to show that there is an increasing trend among men for surgical methods to modify their bodies. In the Philippines, Belo Medical Clinic introduced the “buttock lift” last year, with actor-model John Estrada as prototype. Too bad, Belo did not put up John Estrada’s billboards along EDSA, with his new enhanced and perky buttocks. Bummer.

Okay, I must also admit I just wanted to share with you Ido Victor’s gluteus maximus.

Foxy Jock: Johnron TaƱada

by: rddantes March 21, 2007 | 1 Comment |

He was studying to be a seaman at the Technological Institute of the Philippines in Quiapo, Manila, when the skimpy bikini contests beckoned. Born and raised in Quezon Province, he was dreaming big in the metro as it came to him that the only way to fare is to bare. He first joined Starmall’s Star Model Quest 2004. He lost. He next auditioned for the TV Idols search on Channel 2’s noontime show, which contest was won by AJ Dee. Although he got accepted on the TV Idols show, he backed out at the last minute. He then buffed up and did the rounds of bikini events: Sta. Lucia East Mall’s Mr. and Ms. Sexy Body 2005 [top 6], Mr. Globe Philippines 2005 [winner], Face of Bassilica [2nd RU] and Man of the Year International 2005 [1st RU to Joseph Kidwell]. He is now with Provoq Men, a group of guys who have peculiar fun disrobing for the cameras.

Dreamy: Rich Vergara

by: rddantes | Add Comment |
His real name is Richard Somes and he first came into the she-stuff consciousness in November 2003 as The Bachelor in the now-defunct reality show on GMA 7, Extra Challenge. This looker has stacked up a bit of appearances in TVCs for products such as Tanduay, Greenwich, Vaseline Lotion and Jollibee. When he went full-time in showbiz, the story goes that Kris Aquino [yes, her!] suggested to his manager that he change his name to Rich Vergara as it sounds awfully familiar to Richard Gomez. And then he performed in that driveling excuse for a male version of the Vagina Monologues, the stage play Penis Talks. Despite his good looks, Richard’s career is still in the nether regions of showbiz.

The Brothers Canizares

by: rddantes March 20, 2007 | 3 Comments |

[ Joe Vince, left, and Joe France Canizares]

Here’s another story of progressive genes working out for siblings. A year apart and roughly the same specs and stats, Joe France [the older one] and Joe Vince [the younger one] are model brothers from Cebu. Descendants of a prominent architect dad and a socialite mom in Cebu, the brothers both entered modeling at an early age. However, their career paths took different turns. Joe France has limited his modeling for Cebu’s top designers and has pursued other vocations [he is an Engineering grad] such as, engineer, model, host and entrepreneur. On the other hand Joe Vince went on to excel in Manila’s fashion runways and eventually, in Singapore. In the Lion City Joe Vince ruled the fashion catwalk as well as the TV and print ads. Meanwhile, Joe France has signified his intention to help in the family business and become an entrepreneur with modeling as an aside. Oblivious to the long-standing legal quarrels of his family with Cebu’s Lofgrens, Joe Vince has decided to proceed with his modeling career in Manila and Singapore, while Joe France has decided to help his family in the business.
