He was once a top model a few years back. Cherubim Tito “Bim” Cecilio was discovered via the MTV Fashionista Model Search in 2002 where he won the right to represent the Philippines in the Best Model of the World contest in Istanbul. At the international competition, the then 21-year-old hunk from Albay grabbed the Prince Model of the World title. Upon his return, he dabbled into showbiz for a while – doing guesting stints, most prominent of which was his hosting job as a shirtless jock on Studio 23’s news gag show Wazzup Wazzup. Bim, who had one of the most beautiful faces in the modeling industry [he still is muy guapo today], is now semi-retired from the runways, and is into real estate.
One of the better [and better-looking] singers around is 27-year-old Erik Santos. A familiar face on Sunday variety shows of ABS-CBN, Erik was the grand champion of the network’s singing contest a few years back. His meteoric rise to fame is the result of talent and determination. I’m a big fan of his work and I totally agree with his PR that “television shows, sold-out performances locally and abroad, endorsements, multi-platinum albums, accolades from musical institutions, collaborations with the best musicians and most of all the loyalty of his fervent fans around the world have been the result of his hard work in his young but very promising showbiz odyssey.”
