Paulo in Cinemalaya

Ang Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa explores the intersection and divergence between feminist and gay concerns in the third world context, as it features the poetry of Merlinda Bobis, Ruth Elynia Mabanglo, Joi Barrios, Rebecca Anonuevo, Benilda Santos and Ophelia Dimalanta. When Marlon, a college student, stalks Karen, his literature professor, he finds out that she moonlights as a choreographer and dance teacher in a dance studio. Frustrated over his performance in her literature class, he plans to impress her instead by learning to poeticize his body movements and enroll in her dance class. He hires his classmate to teach him the basics of dancing. As Dennis, his tutor, teaches him how his body should move, Marlon begins to understand the intersections between the art of poetry and dance. This opens up his world to new insights about the life of Karen as a single woman who chose to live the life of an artist in a third world setting. Marlon begins to understand how the poems being discussed by Karen in class are testaments to her choice to stand by her art. Ligo Na U, Lapit Na Me

Cinemalaya 2011 time! Here’s a synopsis from the movie Ligo Na U Lapit Na Me by Erick Salud – Karl Vladimir Lennon J. Villalobos, aka Intoy, is secretly in love with his friend Jenny, the most beautiful girl in the campus. Jenny is rich and quirky; Intoy is street-smart and ordinary. But this friendship is not simple, since Jenny has bestowed on Intoy some perks and privileges, including going to bed with her on the condition that they will not fall in love with each other. Before graduation, Intoy feels that he has to shed his pretensions of being astig and finally profess his love for Jenny. But he is devastated to learn that Jenny is pregnant. Worse, Jenny tells him: “Don’t worry, this is not yours.” Based on the bestselling novel of Eros S. Atalia, Ligo Na U, Lapit Na Me is an examination of postmodern love and relationship and the way this generation deals with their love and fear. More Mark

And so it seems you have your new favorite boy in Bench Body. Young, fresh and cute, with a huge lump in them skivvies, Mark McMahon is getting his more than 15-minutes of fame. Heck, he’s even in showbiz now as he stars in Tween Hearts: Class of 2012 movie showing in August. Here’s someone to watch out for in the Sexy Boys Department!

Happy Birthday, Marco!

The minute we saw you in November 2008 in your first nudity-filled
movie, Walang Kawala [No Way Out]as the kick-butt dancer Tolits,
we knew you are going to be big.

You followed it up with Butas [Loophole] in January 2009 where,
as the philandering Virgo, we fell in awe [and in love].

In February, you came out in Booking, as the struggling actor Lando
with a penchant for shedding clothes in any scene.

Of course, we couldn’t get enough of you as you did the role of masseur
Biboy in Heavenly Touch, which premiered in May 2009.

The frontal nudity continued in June when Big Night was shown, where
you danced away your role Abel in nekkid abandon.

Just when we thought you put on your clothes back and retired
from the scene, you came back in October that year as the
live cam sex performer Mark in Pipo.

The next month, you were doing this Japan-bound dancer role Rico
in I Love Dreamguyz.

After some roles on tv and wholesome indie flicks, you came back
after a year,October 2010 to be exact when your movie
Laruang Lalake was screened.

Of course, there’s this under-the-radar gay flick that you made,
Halik sa Tubig, shown also during that time in some city
outside Metro Manila. We heard you did
awesome in that gay flick – sex scenes and all.

And so, on your birthday, Frontal Nudity King or whatever titles we wish to lovingly bestow on you, we wish you the best. Of course, we wouldn’t mind seeing you in your birthday suit once in a while. Because we just can’t enough. Because we’re big fans. Big lusty [and lusting] fans! Happy Birthday, Marco Morales!

Aly Arousing

It’s the Philippine Azkals’s turn to shine in colorful nylon lycra briefs! Team captain Alexander Charles “Aly” Borromeo takes over as he poses sexily in tight underwear for Bench Body. The 28-year-old Filipino-American stud had a billboard along EDSA, too, which board was recently taken own for being “offensive.”

Paulo 2.0

Somehow, the Rafael Rosells and Jon Mullallys have all disappeared from the Bench Body empire of flesh and sex erotica. Time was when they dominated the billboards, print ads and tv commercials for the underwear company. Now, there’s a new guy on the briefs-and-thongs block and his name is Paulo Avelino. Judging from the proliferation of Paulo images in sexy underthings, he’s undeniably the new It Boy of Bench Body!

This didn’t quite make it to busy EDSA on a huge billboard, but it would have caused quite a stir – in people’s loins [and groins]! This is Mark McMahon, a 20-year-old member of the Philippine Football Federation’s Azkals. He was born in Siargao but raised in Glasgow, Scotland. He has a certain Gerald-Andersonness, and methinks he can be a shoo-in for showbiz.

Humpday Hunk

Remember this group of hunks that used to sing and dance for the defunct Sunday show SOP over at GMA? Take 5 members went daring in photo shoots [Carlos Concepcion] and in indie flicks [Douglas Robinson, Marco Morales]. Now, it’s former member and model Rey Talosig‘s turn, as he exposes himself in GMA Artist Center’s Black Book. Hot!

Are you decent?

Albert: Are you decent?
Stepmother emerges from the shower in a towel:
Do you mean my morals, or my outfit?
Albert: One never questions the morals of the rich.
Stepmother: I’m so damn rich, but you make me
feel so damn poor!

– from the movie Nympha
Joey Gosiengfiao

While we’re on the topic of morals and The Philippine Volcanoes and campy Temptation Island [same writer-director as the one who wrote the lines above], would it be less offensive and less racy if, perhaps, the billboards would contain just shirtless men with teenie-weenie bulges in their pants? How about a compromise, eh? Photo for illustration purposes only: Jake Cuenca.

Actor Tom Rodriguez is waiting in the wings no more. It’s his turn to shine and it is now. His recent outing in the campy movie Temptation Island [still showing in theaters and packing ’em in!] confirms his importance in the leading-men tier. Of course, it helped that he’s hot as ever.
