The impossibly-named eighteen-year-old Cepter Maniclang was hailed last Thursday as the Ginoong Pilipinas 2008. The 6’0″-tall candidate from Bugallon, Pangasinan bested 30 other guys for the top prize, including the much-touted JC Dungo of Mandaluyong City who settled for a runner-up position. It was a major upset for the city boys as the provincial candidates hauled in the major awards [Vic Martinez of Dipolog City was Ginoong ExpoWorld 2008]
Whatever happened to the Ginoong Pilipinas winners? The bikini mill churned out dozens of cute boys from around the country in tiny gauzy underwear. But where are they now? Did they ever make it as models, actors and, uh, entertainers? Reader mcm451 sends in these images of 2008 Ginoo winner Cepter Maniclang and informs us that the guy’s still busy joining local pageants in his hometown in Pangasinan. Sweet!
In 2007, then 23-year-old Alexander Rico from Baguio City won the Mr. Talent prize at the Mr. World-Philippines contest, a national pageant held to select the country’s representative to the Mr. World competition in China. In 2008, the 5’10”-tall model busied himself with work as a stylist and makeup artist. He did the makeup of Johnron Tanada and that Izon guy in the movie Love Birds. In 2009, he decided to hit the gym and do the roids. In 2010, he won the year’s Ginoong Pilipinas national pageant – primped, primed and pumped up. Oh wait, that’s just my dope. The national finals is yet to be held tomorrow, 26 May 2010 at the Metro Bar along West Avenue, Quezon City.
When I first posted Willord Tacay‘s picture here, the one thing you guys noticed was the matter of his pits – how white his underarms were. Now, he’s one of the contestants in the annual competition of boys from the provinces in gauzy underwear otherwise known as Ginoong Pilipinas. Will Willord lord it over the competition on 26 May 2010 at the national finals in Metro Bar along West Avenue, Quezon City? Catch Willord on that day in tiny underwear. There will also be a pre-pageant tomorrow 23 May 2010 at Music Avenue in that dark area near the Central Market in Manila.
Here’s another one of my favorites at the ongoing Ginoong Pilipinas 2009 contest – Kirstey Viray from Bayambang, Pangasinan. Gangling but sexy, 20-year-old Kirstey is a Nursing student at the Lyceum – Northwestern University in Dagupan City. He wants to be a model and he believes that this contest will give him the opportunity to be one. With a little bit polishing and touching up, Kirstey might just make it with his height, appeal [he looks better in person], and charm.
The reason I might watch the Ginoong Pilipinas events this year is because of 18-year-old Kevin Roi Reyes, that kid with the puppy eyes and fine bod. He looks fresh, he’s cute and sexy, too. Plus, he is excellent at beatboxing – that vocal percussion using one’s mouth to create rap or techno-like sound [Is he beatboxing tonight wearing only his size-under briefs at the Music Avenue in Sampaloc, Manila for the Talent Competition?]. This fine young man came from the Claret School of Quezon City, where he was quite a popular campus figure.
One of the more notable candidates in this year’s batch of the Ginoong Pilipinas pageant is 22-year-old Jake Mendoza, the cute hunk formerly known as Mark John Sellado. This 5’9″-tall freelance model from Quezon City hopes to snatch one of the titles in the national finals which will be held on 21 May 2009 at the Metro Bar along West Ave. in Quezon City.
So, there’s this contest called Ginoong San Juan 2009 and it’s another reason to see young and cute boys in swim wear [and briefs], natch! And guess where it was held. Ate Chin Chin Bar or the bar formerly known as Lips! Of course, if it’s in Lips, it would have to be raunchy and fleshly and rousing. The winner of this contest, which is a preliminary to the national Ginoong Pilipinas in May, was Mark Daniel Alarcon. At 19 years old, Mark Daniel is already starting to get noticed in the male personality pageants.
…. Marty Mendoza. A reader sent in some info about this mysterious nekkid guy who kept on appearing in two [here and here] previous posts. Apparently, he appeared as one of the blink-or-you’ll-miss-me actors in the movie Sikil. He was discovered when he won Ginoong Nueva Ecija 2003 and subsequently, Ginoong Pilipinas 2003 first runner-up. Marty Mendoza was taking up BS Nursing at the Philippine College of Health Sciences in Recto Avenue, Manila, prior to joining showbusiness.
One good-looking contestant who got shut out of the main titles at stake at the recently-concluded Ginoong Pilipinas 2008 pageant was Mark Joseph “Mackoy” Miranda. The 22-year-old representative of Dasmarinas, Cavite, previously appeared in Heatwave 2007 Bikini Showdown [won by a then-unknown Harry Chua]. Prior to that, he was the Mr. AICS [Asian Institute of Computer Studies] 2005 and a contestant at the Body Heat 2006 Bikini Summit in Island Cove, Cavite.
