Ona Roll

He’s a card-carrying member of the Frequent Bikini Open Contestant Society. AJ Ona is dead set on winning a title, a prize, an award in them bikini competitions. In fact, summer’s already here and he’s all prepped for the contests this season. Recently, this 5’11”-tall native of Lucena City appeared in the new queer flick, Santuaryo directed by Monti Parungao for Climax Films. Will he be doing frontals in the movie? Hopefully, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board [MTRCB] approves the “sensitive” scenes for showing on 17 March 2010 in selected theaters.

Cover

The controversial and attention-grabbing Magallanes interchange billboard of Jake Cuenca in tacky Bench Body briefs has been replaced by an image of a cutesy Piolo Pascual in jeans. In other news, Piolo announced that he wants to keep his love life private to avoid publicity and that his love life has to take a backseat due to his numerous showbiz commitments and endorsements. Moreover, Piolo declared that he still pines for his lady love named KC and that he denies writing a love letter to the girl although he wants to court her in the traditional way.

Fetching

If you’ve seen the trailer of the new movie Santuaryo by Climax Films, chances are, you’ve also watched this guy running nekkid – teabag, dick and all – on the beach. He is Gino Quintana, a regular bikini open contestant. The 5’7″-tall Gino appears for the first time in a movie, and daring at that! Santuaryo is the story of a bunch of guys beached on a deserted island. Six guys, one island, zero underwear – you do the calculus. The movie’s showing on 17 March 2010 in selected theaters.

An Announcement

And quick, save the photo above of that Ace guy before someone directs me to remove it. Again. The Philippine Independent Filmmakers Cooperative, in cooperation with Robinsons Movieworld, invites everyone to QUEERLOVEFEST, a cinematic fiesta in pink and all the colors of the rainbow. The film festival features some of the most recent and talked about gay-themed indies – “Ang Laro sa Buhay ni Juan [in photo] directed by Jay Altarejos; “Boylets” and “Quicktrip” by Cris Pablo; “Daybreak” by Adolfo Alix; “Dose” by Senedy Que; “Heavenly Touch” and “Walang Kawala” by Joel Lamangan; “Rome and Juliet” by Connie Macatuno; “Boy” by Aureaus Solito; “Ben and Sam” by Mark Shandii Bacolod; and “The Thank You Girls” by Bebs Gohetia. Opening QUEERLOVEFEST is the world premiere of “Ben & Sam” by Mark Shandii Bacolod. QUEERLOVEFEST runs from February 17 to 23 at INDIESINE, Robinsons Movieworld Galleria.

Hang Out

Hot model Gerard Sison is one of the fresh faces of the modeling biz this 2010. Born and raised in Melbourne, Gerard came to the country in 2008 to party for three weeks in Boracay. After his beach stint, he tried his luck at modeling for the runways in Manila. This 6′-tall hunk was already a seasoned model back in Australia, so the job came easy for him. He landed Fashion Week slots plus TVCs. So far he has stayed in the country.

Returns

It’s him again and he’s more daring than ever! Will Sandejas is the go-to guy for bold and provocative indie flicks. The lead actor of Sikil and Oliver is back once again to show his wares [and talent, of course] in the new movie Santuaryo by Climax Films. Since the theme of the movie is lost-guys-in-a-deserted-island, expect Will to be in wet tighty whities [like the one above] most of the time. Santuaryo will be shown on 17 March 2010.

Spot

Will Starstruck eliminee Ian Batherson find a place in showbiz or will he just be another pretty face with a nice body doing extra work in the network? Despite the setback in the reality show, Ian’s determined to make it as an actor-performer on tv and eventually in the movies. This 21-year-old German-Filipino model is also perfecting his Filipino language skills in preparation for the local soaps and shows. Hopefully, he’ll be successful in the biz.

Dripping

Our Monday boy is wet, wet, wet Justin Dizon teasing and taunting by a lonely beach. Summer’s definitely here, along with the bikini contests for cute guys with muscles and big lumps. Of course, the movies get daring too. Like the beach scenes where the boys forego the regulation Speedos in favor of the cheap and flimsy white briefs. The wetter the better. Justin does just that in the new movie Santuaryo of Climax Films. The trailer of the movie, which will be shown on 17 March 2010, is up again here.

Beautiful + Music

Beautiful
He was once a top model a few years back. Cherubim Tito “Bim” Cecilio was discovered via the MTV Fashionista Model Search in 2002 where he won the right to represent the Philippines in the Best Model of the World contest in Istanbul. At the international competition, the then 21-year-old hunk from Albay grabbed the Prince Model of the World title. Upon his return, he dabbled into showbiz for a while – doing guesting stints, most prominent of which was his hosting job as a shirtless jock on Studio 23’s news gag show Wazzup Wazzup. Bim, who had one of the most beautiful faces in the modeling industry [he still is muy guapo today], is now semi-retired from the runways, and is into real estate.

Music
One of the better [and better-looking] singers around is 27-year-old Erik Santos. A familiar face on Sunday variety shows of ABS-CBN, Erik was the grand champion of the network’s singing contest a few years back. His meteoric rise to fame is the result of talent and determination. I’m a big fan of his work and I totally agree with his PR that “television shows, sold-out performances locally and abroad, endorsements, multi-platinum albums, accolades from musical institutions, collaborations with the best musicians and most of all the loyalty of his fervent fans around the world have been the result of his hard work in his young but very promising showbiz odyssey.”

Bald, Bare

That’s Ralph Darrel Mateo, and he has been in and around last season’s bikini contests and the independently-produced queer flicks like Heavenly Touch [he played one of the masseurs]. This Ginoong Metro Manila 2009 titleholder is again part of a daring movie featuring nekkid boys on a lonely island. Climax Films’ Santuaryo is set to be shown in March and Ralph Mateo is part of an all-boys cast cavorting threadbare on the beach.
